first off, my visual reference for cute little monks, all wrapped in red, is hardly the DaliLama...i think of those guys who set themselves on fire during Vietnam. ( i know, different country, but that is the picture that comes to mind when folks talk about monks...) they are like soldiers, too. but a different kind. during the month of ramadhan (yes, i know monks are not muslim,) america pales in the spiritual light. check out

second off, we hear the Bush Administration talk of protecting democracy, thousands of people are dead as a point of 'installing' democracy...Why do I see so much focus suddenly being put on Iran, when Burma is out of conrtol?
because Ahmadinejad came to address the UN? or to a
freakin university?people have been filling the streets of every major city, petitioning for help for the last ten days? I see only international news feeds paying any attention to Burma? Iran is a democracy, the U.S. seems like it is itching to bomb the hell out of another sovereign nation...
and in the meantime, on a domestic note, none of the Republican candidates will appear with
Tavis Baby?and the Jena 6 tradegy, what is going on? why doesn't the republican party feel a duty to sit and rap with Tavis about all that has been going on!?!
i left the states cause i felt that based our country's history, for me to expect many things to change was unrealistic. i heard that old southern
conservative's voice in my head: he said, "if you don't like, leave."
and so i did. and others are as well. by being out of the states is my small contribution to change. what a sad hypocrazy state of affairs.i am not the only one having this
